FOCUSING ON GREEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE ETHNIC MINORITY AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS IN VIETNAM
Abstract
In the context of alarming climate change, green economic development is an inevitable trend of economies all over the world, including Vietnam. In Vietnam, in spite of being the particularly important strategic areas in terms of economy, politics, culture, society, national security and foreign affairs, the ethnic minorities and mountainous areas have not fully utilized their strengths and potentials; mainly have the brown economy with many shortcomings, limitations, difficulties, challenges and restricting the overall development results of the country. The article focuses on identifying some matters in socio-economic development in the ethnic minorities and mountainous areas and proposing solutions to promote green economic development in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.
