MANAGEMENT OF THE PROCESS FOR DESIGNING ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENT TESTS FOR STUDENTS AT THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ART EDUCATION

Abstract

This article explores the management of the process for designing English proficiency assessment tests for students at the National University of Art Education. The research analyzes and evaluates the test design process based on a survey of English language lecturers. The survey results show that the design process lacks full participation from the lecturers, resulting in tests that do not accurately reflect the teaching requirements and learning outcomes. Additionally, the tests were not piloted before being officially applied, which affects the accuracy and reliability of the assessment. However, some advantages were noted, such as the tests being designed according to learning outcomes and having a differentiation aspect that helps assess the diverse abilities of students. The article proposes solutions to improve the process, including increasing lecturer involvement in test design, piloting the tests before implementation and establishing a review system to enhance the quality of English proficiency assessment for students
