RESEARCH RELATED TO CALLING NAME ISSUES OF THE ANCESTOR OF THE DAO ETHNIC GROUP

Abstract

The Dao people in Vietnam are an ethnic group with many unique and unique cultural characteristics. The Dao's religion is Taoism, which has been localized along with the history of formation and the process of ethnic migration. Along with the three supreme gods of Taoism, Tam Thanh, the Dao people also have the custom of worshiping their ancestors. All Dao groups in the world believe that their ancestors are Ban Hoang (or Ban Vuong, Ban Ho). However, due to migration and division of phyla, the name of the ancestor is identified by local Dao groups with different calling sounds. The researchers themselves, the media also used inconsistently. This makes it difficult to reach, track, and learn for the vast majority of readers. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify and find a unified name for the Dao ancestors, to help readers easily visualize the spiritual culture for the worship of the Dao ancestors.
