CHINESE COMMUNITY ON THE LAND OF CHAU DOC, AN GIANG PROVINCE

Abstract

Compared to the length of the nation’s history, Chau Doc is a relatively young city. However, this place has had the meeting of many cultural flows from a very early age, including the Chinese community. Since the first arrival in Chau Doc, the Chinese have actively participated in the exploitation of the borderland with the Vietnamese, Khmer and Cham. After centuries, the Chinese have contributed to Chau Doc with unique cultural values, contributing to the richness of the local culture. This article explores the history of the Chinese community in Chau Doc city and its economic, cultural, and social issues... thereby showing the contributions of the Chinese to the history and culture of Chau Doc at present.
